El aumento de la prevalencia de la Diabetes Tipo (DT2) hace necesario utilizar herramientas que permitan detectar a la población con más riesgo. Una de ellas es el test, cuestionario o escala de FINDRISC (Finnish Diabetes Risk Score). Objetivo: Identificar los factores de riesgo para desarrollar DT2 en el personal militar en actividad del Hospital Central FAP (Fuerza Aérea del Perú), a los que alcanzaron un puntaje según el cuestionario de FINDRISC ≥13. Material y Métodos: Estudio observacional, transversal y descriptivo. Se aplicó el cuestionario de FINDRISC en el personal del Hospital Central de la Fuerza Área del Perú - FAP que acudió al examen médico anual. Se excluyeron a todos los diabéticos. Aquellos que alcanzaron una puntuación ≥13 en el score de riesgo se le tomó el Test Oral de Tolerancia a la Glucosa (TOTG) como prueba gold estándar para determinar DT2. Resultados: De los 615 participantes elegibles, 113 obtuvieron un score de FINDRISC ≥13. A éstos últimos se les realizó un TOTG, de los cuales el 7% presentaron resultados normales, el 44% presentaron glucosa alterada en ayunas (IFG), el 5% intolerancia a la glucosa (IGT), el 17% IFG combinado con IGT y el 27% presentó diabetes. Conclusión: El cuestionario de FINDRISC demostró ser una herramienta útil para identificar individuos con alto riesgo de diabetes. En nuestra población la frecuencia de disglicemia fue del 93% en los participantes que obtuvieron un puntaje ≥ 13 en el cuestionario de FINDRISC, la frecuencia de diabetes fue de 27% y de hiperglicemia no diabética 66%. Los factores de riesgo asociados más frecuentes fueron el IMC elevado y el perímetro abdominal alto, pero no alcanzaron significancia estadística.The prevalence of type 2 diabetes (DT2) is increasing due to its necessary use of tools to detect the most at-risk population. One of them is the FINDRISC questionnaire (Finnish Diabetes Risk Score). AIM: To identify the main risk factors for developing DT2 at the Central Air Force Hospital in Military populations Lima-Perú, those who reached ≥13 at the Finnish Diabetes Risk Score (FINDRISC). Materials and methods: This is an observational, transversal and descriptive study, those from the FAP’s hospital military personnel who took the annual evaluation also took the FINDRISC, all subjects without known diabetes were included. Those individuals with more than≥ 13 points in the FINDRISC score were invited to do an Oral glucose tolerance test, as a proof of gold standard to diagnose DT2. Results: Out of the 615 participants were suitable for the study, 113 subjects with the FINDRISC ≥13 score or higher were invited to do an oral glucose tolerance test, from that group, 7% had normal results, 44% had impaired fasting glucose (IFG), isolated IGT 5% and IFG and IGT combined were 17% and 27% were diagnosed with diabetes. Conclusion: The Finnish Diabetes Risk Score questionnaire proved to be a useful tool at the military hospital, it permitted to know factors of risk to the development of diabetes. In our population, the frequency of dysglycemia was 93% in those with had an score higher to FINDRISC ≥ 13, diabetes frequency 27% and non-diabetic hyperglycemia 66 % the most frequent risk factors associated were high BMI and high abdominal circumference, but they did not reach statistical significance.
