Objective: Analyze available scientific information on nursing care in the intravenous thrombolysis process in patients with ischemic stroke in the emergency service. Material and Method: the study was oriented in the review and analysis of articles and scientific publications related to the research topic; It is classified as a documentary study due to the performance of systemic reviews in order to collect information aimed at responding to the objectives set out within the research. Results: A review of 74 scientific articles was carried out, of which 11 were selected (14.86%). The analysis found the presence of nursing care described in three moments of intravenous thrombolysis (before, during and after), in each of them the attention of the nursing professional was necessary for the detection of complications capable of producing a major neurological disability. Conclusions: nursing care in the intravenous thrombolysis process in patients with ischemic stroke in the emergency service was based on individual patient care, management and control of ventilation, neurological evaluation, follow-up of vital functions, report of complications and also of nursing interventions necessary for the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of the patient.
