Esta investigación tuvo como propósito mejorar la lectura de textos instructivos en niños y niñas de 5 años, con la mediación de las madres y el padre de familia en el hogar, a través del acompañamiento docente virtual hacia ellos. El tipo de investigación fue cualitativo y el diseño fue investigación acción participativa. La muestra estuvo conformada por 1 docente (quien es la investigadora) y 11 madres de familia y 1 padre de familia que pertenecen a un aula del grado de cinco años de una institución educativa inicial pública del distrito de Los Olivos, quienes participaron voluntariamente. Los instrumentos utilizados fueron cuaderno de campo, la lista de cotejo, la foto voz y la guía de grupo de trabajo. La investigación reveló que las madres y el padre de familia acompañaban poco el proceso lector de sus hijos, y si lo hacían, casi todos, usaban cuentos o textos escolares. Asimismo, pocas madres y el padre de familia leían con sus hijos textos instructivos en el hogar, pese a estar presentes en sus hogares. Se concluye que se logró mejorar en un 100% la lectura de textos instructivos en el hogar, de las madres y los padres de familia con sus hijos, en situaciones cotidianas como preparar alguna bebida o comida, limpiar, usar artefactos electrodomésticos y jugar, lo que benefició a los niños en su proceso lector y en otros aspectos.The purpose of this research was to improve the reading of instructional texts in 5-year-old children, with the mediation of parents at home, through virtual teaching accompaniment towards them. The type of research was qualitative and the design is Participatory Action Research. The sample consisted of 1 teacher (who is the researcher) and 12 parents who belong to a five-year grade classroom of a Public Preschool Institution, in Los Olivos district; who participated voluntarily. The instruments used were the checklist, the photo voice and the working group guide. The research revealed that parents did little to follow the reading process of their children, and if they did, almost all of them used stories or school texts. Few parents read instructional texts with their children at home, despite being present in their homes. It is concluded that it was possible to improve by 100% the reading of instructional texts at home, by parents with their children, in everyday situations such as preparing a drink or food, cleaning, using electrical appliances and playing; what benefited the children in their reading process and in other aspects.
