Uno de los principales procedimientos que se asocian a efectos adversos, complicaciones e incluso la muerte es la cirugía. La OMS plantea la LVCS como medida para garantizar la seguridad de los pacientes sometidos a intervenciones quirúrgicas. Objetivo: Describir la evidencia científica acerca de la implementación de la LVCS en enfermeras de centro quirúrgico. Metodología: investigación documental descriptiva, se realizó la búsqueda bibliográfica en bases de datos, tales como: SCIELO, PUBMED, LILACS, ALICIA DIALNET, GOOGLE ACADÉMICO. Resultados: inicialmente se identificaron 30 artículos, de los cuales se seleccionaron 20 por ser artículos de revistas científicas, tener máximo ocho años de antigüedad, en idiomas español, portugués e inglés. Conclusión: la LVCS es considerada una herramienta eficaz que ha tenido mayor impacto en relación a la morbimortalidad luego de su implementación, reduce las complicaciones e incl. uso la muerte, garantizando la seguridad del paciente quirúrgico.One of the main procedures that are associated with adverse effects, complications and even symptoms is surgery. Objective: To describe the scientific evidence about the implementation of the LVCS in surgical center nurses. Methodology: descriptive documentary research, bibliographic search was carried out in databases, such as: SCIELO, PUBMED, LILACS, ALICIA DIALNET, GOOGLE ACADEMIC. Results: initially 30 articles were identified, of which 20 were selected because they were articles from scientific journals, having a maximum of eight years old, in Spanish, Portuguese and English. Conclusion: the LVCS is considered an effective tool that has had a greater impact in relation to morbidity and mortality after its implementation, reduces complications and incl. use death, ensuring the safety of the surgical patient.
