Objetivo: el propósito de esta investigación fue determinar la relación entre la depresión de la pared anterior del seno maxilar y los patrones de la línea diagonal en tomografías computarizadas de haz cónico (TCHC) y radiografías panorámicas. Material y métodos: Se realizó un estudio de tipo observacional, descriptivo, transversal y retrospectivo. Se observó parejas de imágenes (TCHC y radiografías panorámicas) que cumplan con los criterios de selección, obteniendo un total de 250 evaluaciones, en las que se analizó la presencia y distancia de la depresión de la pared anterior del seno maxilar y los patrones de la línea diagonal en TCHC y radiografías panorámicas. Resultados: Se encontró un patrón invisible en el 50%, el 33,2% presentó un patrón oscuro y el 16,8%, un patrón claro. La depresión de la pared anterior del seno maxilar fue mayor en el sexo masculino, tanto en el lado derecho (5,1 ± 1,9 mm) como en el lado izquierdo (5,5 ± 1,9 mm). Al relacionar los patrones de la línea diagonal con la depresión de la pared anterior del seno maxilar se encontró una correlación positiva moderada estadísticamente muy significativa (p<0,001). Conclusión: Existe relación entre la depresión de la pared anterior del seno maxilar y los patrones de la línea diagonal.Objective: The purpose of this investigation was to determine the relationship betweenmaxillary sinus anterior wall depression and diagonal line patterns on cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) and panoramic radiographs. Material and methods: An observational, descriptive, cross-sectional and retrospective study was carried out. Pairs of images (CBCT and panoramic radiographs) that met the selection criteria were demonstrated, obtaining a total of 250 evaluations, in which the presence and distance of the depression of the anterior wall of the maxillary sinus and the patterns of the diagonal line in CBCT and panoramic radiographs. Results: An invisible pattern was found in 50%, 33.2% presented a dark pattern and 16.8% a clear pattern. The depth of the anterior wall of the maxillary sinus was greater in males, both on the right side (5.1 ± 1.9 mm) and on the left side (5.5 ± 1.9 mm). When relating the patterns of the diagonal line with the depression of the anterior wall of the maxillary sinus, a statistically significant moderate positive confirmation was found (p<0.001). Conclusion: There is a relationship between the depression of the anterior wall of the maxillary sinus and the patterns of the diagonal line.
