La lista de verificación de cirugía segura es un instrumento fundamental dentro de la seguridad del paciente quirúrgico, por ello se debe reflexionar sobre la magnitud que tiene el problema de eventos adversos; además de tomar consciencia de que esta lista nos ayudara a disminuirlos, a reducir costos, a tener mejores resultados en cada cirugía, previniendo así las complicaciones o incluso la muerte del paciente dentro de sala de operaciones. Objetivo: Conocer los hallazgos científicos en la aplicación de la lista de verificación de Cirugía Segura. Metodología: Estudio retrospectivo llevado a cabo través de una revisión organizada y sistemática de artículos científicos publicados en diversas bases de datos nacionales e internacionales. Resultados: 98 artículos de los cuales 22 aportaron al estudio y se encontraron en la base de datos de Scielo (08), Dialnet (02), ProQuest (05), Springer (01), Pubmed (01), Cuiden (01), Lilacs (03) y 01 a BVS. Conclusión: El análisis de los hallazgos científicos sobre la aplicación de la Lista de Verificación de Cirugía Segura bajo responsabilidad del personal de enfermería permite identificar y describir la producción científica frente a la seguridad del paciente durante el acto quirúrgico, tanto en el periodo preoperatorio, intraoperatorio y postoperatorio al paciente.The safe surgery checklist is a fundamental instrument within the safety of the surgical patient, therefore it is necessary to reflect on the magnitude of the problem of adverse events; besides being aware that this checklist will help us to reduce them, to reduce costs, to have better results in each surgery, thus preventing complications or even the death of the patient in the operating room. Objective: To know the scientific findings in the application of the Safe Surgery Checklist. Methodology: Retrospective study carried out through an organized and systematic review of scientific articles published in several national and international databases. Results: 98 articles of which 22 contributed to the study and were found in Scielo (08), Dialnet (02), ProQuest (05), Springer (01), Pubmed (01), Cuiden (01), Lilacs (03) and 01 to BVS. Conclusion: The análisis of the scientific findings on the application of the Safe Surgery Checklist under the responsibility of the nursing staff allows identifying and describing the scientific production regarding patient safety during the surgical act, both in the preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative period to the patient.
