La presente investigación tuvo el objetivo de identificar la relación entre inteligencia emocional y las dimensiones de procrastinación académica en universitarios de una universidad de Lima Metropolitana en el contexto de educación semipresencial y virtual. La institución donde se recolectó la base de datos impartía la modalidad presencial, pero debido a las restricciones de la pandemia migró a la virtualidad hasta el 2022 y continuó con la modalidad semipresencial el siguiente año. Por lo tanto, en marzo del presente año, se evaluó a 95 estudiantes que cursaron su carrera en la modalidad semipresencial y virtual debido a las restricciones por la pandemia a través de los instrumentos Trait Meta-Mood Scale 24 (TMMS-24) y Escala de Procrastinación Académica (EPA). La metodología fue de corte cuantitativo-transaccional-correlacional, pues se analizó la correlación entre las variables del estudio. La investigación permitió explorar algunos retos educativos en la población universitaria que persisten pese al término de la pandemia y, en base a ello, la toma de decisiones hacia la prevención de sus secuelas como el manejo del estrés, la frustración y, en el peor de los casos, la deserción universitaria.The aim of this research was to identify the relationship between emotional intelligence and the dimensions of academic procrastination in university students of a university in Metropolitan Lima in the context of semi-face and virtual education. The institution where the database was collected taught the face-to-face modality, but due to the restrictions of the pandemic migrated to virtuality until last year and this year continued with the semi-face modality. Therefore, in March of this year, 95 students who studied in the semi-face and virtual modality due to restrictions due to the pandemic were evaluated through the instruments Trait Meta-Mood Scale 24 (TMMS-24) and Academic Procrastination Scale (EPA). The methodology was quantitative-transactional-correlational, since the correlation between the variables of the study was analyzed. The study allows to explore some educational challenges in the university population that persist despite the end of the pandemic and, based on this, the decision-making according to the prevention of its consequences such as stress, frustration and, in the worst case, the university dropout.
