Introducción: Dens Invaginatus es una anomalía dentaria del desarrollo en la que se forma una invaginación del epitelio interno del órgano del esmalte dentro de la papila dental. Etiología no definida, relacionada a factores genéticos. La prevalencia varía entre el 0.39 y 13%, en su mayoría se encuentra de forma unilateral, con predominancia en dentición permanente. En la mayoría de casos el diagnóstico se realiza en exámenes radiográficos de rutina ya que es una alteración asintomática. El sistema de clasificación más utilizado fue propuesto por Oehlers, Tipo I, Tipo II, Tipo IIIA y IIIB. El tratamiento varía según la anatomía y podría ir desde el sellado preventivo hasta cirugía apical, en todos los casos se busca conservar la integridad y vitalidad pulpar. Objetivos: Determinar la prevalencia de Dens Invaginatus en pacientes de 10 a 17 años en un Centro Dental Universitario en radiografias panorámicas, entre los años 2015 y 2019. Materiales y métodos: El estudio será de tipo descriptivo, observacional, tranversal y retrospectivo, constará de la evaluación de radiografías tomadas a pacientes de 10 a 17 años en el servicio de radiología del Centro Dental de la UPCH, previa autorización del Comité Institucional de Ética. Se evaluará la prevalencia respecto a variables como localización, clasificación y sexo. Los resultados se registraron en una ficha excel, se usará el programa SPSS Statistics version 25. Conclusiones: El principal motivo de ejecución de esta investigación es validar la importancia del correcto diagnóstico de Dens Invaginatus para evitar complicaciones posteriores.Introduction: Dens Invaginatus is a developmental dental anomaly in wich an invagination of the internal epithelium of the enamel organ forms within the dental papilla. Undefined etiology, related to genetic factors. Prevalence varies between 0.39 and 13%, most of it is found unilaterally, with predominance in permanent dentition. In most cases the diagnosis is made in routine radiographic examinations because it is an asyntomatic alteration. The most used classification system was proposed by Oehlers in Type I, Type II, Type IIIA and IIIB. Treatment varies depending on the anatomy and could range from preventive sealing to apical surgery, in all cases the aim is to preserve pulp integrity and vitality. Objectives: Determine the prevalence of Dens Invaginatus in patients aged 10 to 17 years in a University Dental Center in panoramic radiographs, between 2015 and 2019. Materials and methods: The study will be descriptive, observational, transversal and retrospective, it will consist of the evaluation of radiographs taken from patients aged 10 to 17 years in the radiology service of the UPCH Dental Center, with prior authorization from the Institutional Ethics Committee. Prevalence will be evaluated with respect to variables such as location, classification and sex. The results were recorded in an excel sheet, the SPSS Statistics version 25 program will be used. Conclusions: The main reason for carrying out this research is to validate the importance of the correct diagnosis of Dens Invaginatus to avoid subsequent complications.
