Introducción: Los alineadores se comercializaron como una alternativa a los aparatos fijos tradicionales. Con el tiempo, la gama de casos que se pueden tratar mediante alineadores invisibles se ha ampliado. Aún no hay consenso en cuanto a la previsibilidad del movimiento con alineadores y cómo la distribución de fuerzas transmitidas desde los alineadores a la superficie del diente se ven afectadas por la geometría y la extensión de la línea de corte, se han realizado pocos estudios para investigar la capacidad efectiva de los alineadores para lograr movimientos complejos. Objetivo: Evaluar la predictibilidad de los movimientos ortodónticos dentarios con alineadores transparentes con diferentes diseños de corte a nivel gingival, de pacientes atendidos en el servicio de Ortodoncia y Ortopedia maxilar del Centro Dental Docente Cayetano Heredia en el periodo 2024 - 2025. Materiales y Métodos: El siguiente estudio será de tipo longitudinal, observacional, descriptivo y prospectivo, para verificar la hipótesis de que el tratamiento con alineadores transparentes con línea de corte gingival festoneado no expresa completamente los movimientos ortodónticos dentarios diseñado digitalmente en la primera etapa de tratamiento. La población estará conformada por pacientes (En un rango de edad entre los 18 a 35 años.) que reciban tratamiento ortodóntico con alineadores transparentes con diferente diseño de corte. Se analizarán modelos digitales de cada paciente en formato .STL (Standard Tessellation Language) antes y después del tratamiento con alineadores. Conclusiones: esto permitirá la identificación de puntos de referencia anatómicos, planos y ejes para obtener mediciones lineales y angulares pre-tratamiento (T0), post-tratamiento ideal (T1) y post-tratamiento real (T2), en el servicio de Ortodoncia y Ortopedia maxilar del Centro Dental Docente Cayetano Heredia, durante el periodo 2024 - 2025.Introduction: Aligners were marketed as an alternative to traditional fixed appliances. Objective: To evaluate the predictability of orthodontic tooth movements with clear aligners with different cutting designs at the gingival level, in patients treated at the Orthodontics and Maxillary Orthopedics service of the Cayetano Heredia Teaching Dental Center in the period 2024 - 2025. Materials and Methods: The following study will be longitudinal, observational, descriptive and prospective, to verify the hypothesis that treatment with clear aligners with a scalloped gingival cutting line does not fully express the orthodontic tooth movements digitally designed in the first stage of treatment. The population will be made up of patients (In an age range between 18 to 35 years) who receive orthodontic treatment with clear aligners with different cutting designs. Digital models of each patient will be analyzed in .STL (Standard Tessellation Language) format before and after treatment with aligners. Conclusion: this will allow the identification of anatomical reference points, planes and axes to obtain linear and angular measurements pre-treatment (T0), ideal post-treatment (T1) and actual post-treatment (T2), in the Orthodontics and Maxillary Orthopedics service of the Cayetano Heredia Teaching Dental Center, during the period 2024 - 2025.
