El presente estudio monográfico tiene como objetivo analizar los cuidados de enfermería en la atención de pacientes con cetoacidosis diabética del área de emergencias. Material y Métodos: investigación de tipo documental, mediante la revisión integrativa, de información descriptiva tipo retrospectiva. Se basa en realizar una revisión detallada y análisis de varias literaturas, artículos de diversas fuentes con hasta 10 años de antigüedad. Se consultó: Dialnet, Lilacs, EBSCOhost, Google académico, Redalyc, Diabetes Journals y otros. Resultados: se analizaron artículos internacionales y nacionales, en inglés, portugués y castellano. Conclusiones: La Cetoacidosis Diabética es una complicación de consideración de la Diabetes Mellitus, se presenta cuando el organismo no tiene suficiente insulina para permitir que el azúcar en la sangre ingrese a sus células para ser utilizada como energía, sin una atención especializada brindada por el profesional de enfermería de acuerdo a los protocolos establecidos puede incluso generar complicaciones por desconocimiento de la terapéutica, además de intervenir con conocimiento científico en las propias complicaciones presentadas durante el tratamiento de esta patología que incluso puede causar la muerte prematura.The objective of this monographic study is to analyze nursing care in the care of patients with diabetic ketoacidosis in the emergency area. Material and Methods: documentary-type research, through integrative review, of retrospective-type descriptive information. It is based on carrying out a detailed review and analysis of various literatures, articles from various sources up to 10 years old. The following will be consult: Dialnet, Lilacs, EBSCOhost, Google Scholar, Redalyc, Diabetes Journals and others. Results: international and national articles were analyzed, in English, Portuguese and Spanish. Conclusions: Diabetic Ketoacidosis is a significant complication of Diabetes Mellitus, it occurs when the body does not have enough insulin to allow blood sugar to enter its cells to be used as energy, without specialized care provided by the professional. Nursing according to the established protocols can even generate complications due to ignorance of the therapy, in addition to intervening with scientific knowledge in the complications that arise during the treatment of this pathology that can even cause premature death.
