La situación de muerte genera un profundo dolor en la familia y los profesionales que brindan atención al paciente, siendo una circunstancia dolorosa y muy sensible que limita su análisis y hace que su abordaje no sea a profundidad, agravándose aún más cuando no existen estrategias apropiadas para enfrentar este delicado evento. Objetivo: Determinar la relación de las actitudes y las estrategias de afrontamiento de los profesionales de enfermería, ante la muerte de un paciente en la UCI de un hospital, Lima, 2025. Materiales y Métodos: Se trata de una investigación con enfoque cuantitativo, de diseño transversal y correlacional. El estudio incluyó a 120 profesionales de enfermería que trabajan en la UCI, mediante un estudio censal. La técnica utilizada será la encuesta y se aplicarán dos cuestionarios, el primero mide la actitud de los profesionales de enfermería frente a la muerte de un paciente, consta de 30 ítems distribuidos en tres dimensiones: actitud cognitiva (9 ítems), actitud afectiva (10 ítems) y actitud conductual (11 ítems), este instrumento fue validado a través de juicio de expertos; el segundo cuestionario, denominado "Cuestionario de estrategias de afrontamiento ante la muerte", consta de 28 ítems y tiene una escala de puntuación de 1 a 5, que va desde "en absoluto" hasta "totalmente". Este instrumento también fue validado mediante un juicio de expertos. Plan de Análisis: Para el procesamiento de la información, los datos serán codificados e ingresados en el software estadístico Microsoft Excel para su posterior análisis utilizando el programa Stata versión 17.0.
