La actitud de la enfermera tiene un papel importante en la atención al recién nacido y más aún en unidades críticas, donde se mantiene una relación directa en el cuidado. Durante la estancia hospitalaria el neonato crítico enfrenta tratamientos prolongados por lo que el catéter venoso central de inserción periférica se ha convertido en una herramienta útil y eficaz para garantizar la terapéutica, donde su inserción y el cuidado corresponde al personal de enfermería. OBJETIVO: Determinar la relación entre la actitud y la práctica del personal de enfermería en el manejo del catéter percutáneo en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos Neonatales. MATERIAL Y METODOS: El diseño es de tipo descriptivo, con un enfoque cuantitativo de corte transversal. La población está constituida por 35 enfermeras, que cumplan con los criterios establecidos de inclusión y exclusión. Los datos se recogerán haciendo uso de la técnica de encuestas, el análisis se llevará mediante la prueba estadística correlación de Spearman, donde posteriormente se presentará los resultados de forma clara y precisa. Se tendrá en cuenta en todo momento los principios éticos: autonomía, beneficencia, no maleficencia y justicia.The nurse's attitude plays an important role in newborn care, especially in critical care units, where a direct relationship with care is maintained. During hospital stays, critically ill newborns face prolonged treatment, so the peripherally inserted central venous catheter (PIC) has become a useful and effective tool for ensuring therapeutic outcomes. Its insertion and care are the responsibility of the nursing staff. OBJECTIVE: To determine the relationship between the attitude and practice of nursing staff in the management of percutaneous catheters in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The design is descriptive, with a cross-sectional quantitative approach. The population consists of 35 nurses who meet the established inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data will be collected using survey techniques; analysis will be conducted using the Spearman correlation statistical test, and the results will be presented clearly and precisely. The ethical principles of autonomy, beneficence, nonmaleficence, and justice will be taken into account at all times.
