El propósito de esta investigación fue demostrar cómo el Aprendizaje Basado en Proyectos (ABP) mejora el nivel de logro de aprendizaje del idioma inglés en los educandos de un Instituto Superior Estatal en Lima - Perú. La muestra estuvo conformada por 27 alumnos del nivel básico 6 del curso de inglés. 16 estudiantes formaron parte del grupo experimental (GE) y 11 educandos del grupo de control (GC). La investigación fue de carácter experimental cuyo diseño fue cuasi experimental, aplicándose los pre y post test al GE y únicamente los posts test al GC. Los resultados establecen diferencias estadísticamente significativas producto de la intervención del programa diseñado con el ABP. Los beneficiados fueron, en primera instancia los discentes, quienes se involucraron reflexivamente en la planificación y desarrollo del proyecto. Y en segunda instancia, se beneficiaron los demás agentes educativos de la institución al conocer los intereses, necesidades, expectativas y propuestas planteadas por los discentes. Se concluye que la metodología activa ABP influye en el nivel de logro de la Comprensión Auditiva, Expresión Oral, Comprensión de Textos y Producción de Textos en inglés. Es decir, perfecciona el nivel de logro del aprendizaje de este idioma extranjero en alumnos del Nivel Superior en el Sistema Educativo Peruano.The purpose of this research was to demonstrate how The Project Based Learning (PBL) improves the level of achievement of English language learning in students of a State Higher Institute in Lima- Peru. The sample consisted of 27 students of English. 16 students were part of the experimental group (EG) and 11 students, members of the control group (CG). This was experimental research, quasi-experimental in which both the pre and post tests were administered to the EG and only the post tests to the CG. The results establish statistically meaningful results thanks to the intervention of the program designed with the PBL. The first beneficiaries were the students, who were reflexively involved in the planning and development of the project. In the second instance, the beneficiaries were the other educational agents of the institution who got to know the interests, needs, expectations and proposals raised by the students. It is concluded that this active methodology influences on the level of achievement of the students’ Listening Comprehension, Oral Expression, Text Comprehension and Text Production in English. That is, it improves the level of achievement of learning this foreign language in students of Higher Education in the Peruvian Educational System.
